Lisa Nelson is Senior Advisor at Vela Wood, where she leads the firm’s capital expansion projects. At Vela Wood, Lisa previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer, leading the firm’s operations and people functions through a period of significant growth. Prior to joining Vela Wood, Lisa was the CHRO for Match Group and an Adjunct Professor within the Management and Organizations department at Southern Methodist University. Lisa graduated from the University of Western Australia with a B.A. in Industrial Relations and Italian and earned an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, attempting to master the piano, and spending time with her husband, kids, and dogs (not always in that order).
