Peter graduated with a degree in Economics/Accounting from UC Santa Barbara and received his J.D. from UCLA Law School. While in law school, he founded and served as the President of the UCLA Gaming Law Association which was created to focus on regulatory and legal issues in online gambling, fantasy sports, and e-sports.

While at UC Santa Barbara, Peter served as one of the play-by-play voices for UCSB basketball, baseball, and soccer for a local radio station. He also worked for ESPNU Campus Connection producing video content focused on college sports and college athletes.

Prior to joining Vela Wood, Peter led the U.S. expansion and business development efforts for the Smarkets Betting Exchange, a London-based sportsbook now operating in multiple U.S. states. He also served as an advisor to various sports betting and fantasy sports businesses such as Sporttrade, Delavan Lake Trading, nVenue, BetConstruct, FanDex, and others.
